Privacy policy

The short version: the Hellflash phone app runs entirely on your phone. Your car's data stays there. We don't track you, show ads or sell anything about you.

Who we are

Hellflash is a trading name of Lyrns Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15106179) with its registered office at 52 Colebrook Way, London, N11 1SZ. Lyrns Ltd is the data controller for anything described here. Contact: support@hellflash.com.

The iOS and Android app

The tuning engine runs inside the app on your phone. When you connect your car, the app reads things like the VIN, the engine and gearbox software versions, calibration data, live sensor values and fault codes. All of that is processed and stored on your phone only. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else.

• No account is needed to use the app.
• No analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs are built in.
• The app asks for Local Network access (iOS) or network access (Android) only to talk to the ENET or Wi-Fi adapter plugged into your car.
• Backups, tunes and logs you make are kept in the app's private storage. Deleting the app deletes them. On iOS, your car backups are included in your own iCloud or computer backup if you have that turned on.

The website and web app

hellflash.com and app.hellflash.com are hosted by Vercel, and the web app's demo engine runs on our server in Germany (Hetzner). Like any website, these servers keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the service running and secure. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Buying a licence

If you buy a Hellflash licence, we keep the email address you give us, the VIN the licence is tied to, and the payment reference. Card details are handled by our payment processor and never reach us. We use this only to provide and support your licence.

Emailing us

If you email support@hellflash.com, we keep the conversation so we can help you, and delete it on request.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of any personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@hellflash.com. If you're in the UK or EU you can also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).

Children

Hellflash is a tool for car owners and is not meant for anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
