Most tools tune half the car.

Engine apps leave the gearbox on factory settings. Gearbox apps leave the engine stock. Hellflash tunes both, on one licence.

Questions

Anything else, email support@hellflash.com

Is the BMW M140i supported?

Yes. The F20 and F21 M140i (B58, MG1CS003 engine computer, 2016 to 2019) is the car Hellflash was built on, along with the M240i, 340i and 440i on the same engine. With the 8-speed automatic you get the gearbox tuning as well.

Can I remap my BMW myself?

Yes. Plug a standard ENET cable into the OBD port, open the app on a Windows laptop, read your car, pick a stage or build your own, and flash it. The app saves a full backup first and corrects the checksums for you.

Can I flash the engine today?

Yes. Hellflash flashes the engine and the gearbox from the same app, with a full backup first and checksums corrected on every write. Engine flashing works today on the B58 (MG1CS003): M140i, M240i, 340i, 440i and the early G-series 40i cars.

Does Hellflash do pops and bangs?

Yes. Pops on upshift come from the gearbox and you choose Off, Subtle, Nice or Loud. You also get a quiet cold start for early mornings and an exhaust flap that opens sooner. Overrun burble from the engine arrives as a free update.

Does Hellflash tune the ZF 8HP gearbox?

Yes. Shift points for Drive, Sport and Manual, shift speed, upshift torque cut, torque limit per gear, launch control, drag mode, throttle blips on downshifts and more: 34 settings in all. Gearbox flashing is proven on a real car.

What is Hellflash AI?

A tuner you talk to. Tell it what you want in your own words and it picks the settings, shows you every change against stock, and you build and flash it. It is rolling out to every licence holder as a free update.

Is Hellflash an alternative to bootmod3, MHD or xHP?

Yes. bootmod3 and MHD tune the engine and xHP tunes the gearbox. Hellflash does both in one app on one £300 licence. They support more cars and have phone apps today; Hellflash runs on a Windows laptop for now, with phone apps on the way.

Is flex fuel or map switching available?

Flex fuel, map switching, launch control and anti-lag on the engine, no-lift shift and overrun burble are on the way. They need extra code on the engine computer, and they arrive as free updates for your car.

What do I need?

A standard ENET cable (OBD to Ethernet), a Windows laptop and a battery charger on the car while you flash. iPhone and Android apps are on the way.

Can I go back to stock?

Yes. Hellflash reads and saves your car's own software before the first flash, so you can put it back.

Can I tune on top of my current tune?

Yes. Load your car's own read or a backup as the starting point and edit on top of it, or start from stock.

How much does it cost?

£300, one time, per car. It covers the engine and the gearbox, with updates for that car. No subscription and no credits.

Is remapping legal in the UK?

Remapping is legal, but you must tell your insurer, the car still has to pass its MOT, and some features, like a raised speed limiter, are for track use only.

Will tuning affect my warranty?

It can. Tuning may affect your warranty, your insurance and whether the car is road legal where you live. Tell your insurer and keep your stock backup.

Start with a free read of your car.

Read your car for free first. If it fits, it’s £300 once and it’s yours.
