Questions
Anything else, email support@hellflash.com
Is it safe to remap my own BMW?
Hellflash saves a full backup before the first write, corrects checksums on every build, verifies every write and asks for a battery charger on the car. You can always flash back to stock.
Is remapping legal in the UK?
Remapping is legal, but you must tell your insurer, the car still has to pass its MOT, and some features, like a raised speed limiter, are for track use only.
Which BMWs can I remap?
Engine and gearbox flashing works today on the B58 (MG1CS003): M140i, M240i, 340i, 440i and the early G-series 40i cars. B58 Gen 2, S58, N55 and N54 are supported for tuning.
Can I go back to stock?
Yes. Hellflash reads and saves your car's own software before the first flash, so you can put it back any time.
What do I need?
A standard ENET cable (OBD to Ethernet), a Windows laptop and a battery charger on the car while you flash. iPhone and Android apps are on the way.
How much does it cost?
£300, one time, per car. It covers the engine and the gearbox, with updates for that car. No subscription and no credits.
